Katie earned both her Bachelor’s degree in Social Work and her Master of Social Work from Union University where she specialized in trauma studies. She completed her clinical internship at Carlsbad Beach Recovery, where she found a passion for supporting individuals navigating mental health challenges, substance use, and behavioral addictions, including gambling.
She believes that meaningful change starts with feeling truly seen and understood. Katie focuses on building genuine, trusting relationships with her clients and creating a space where they can come as they are without judgement. Her approach is shaped by a trauma-informed and attachment-based perspective, helping clients better understand themselves, their patterns, and how their experiences have shaped the way they connect with others. She draws from approaches like CBT, DBT, ACT, and Motivational Interviewing in a way that feels natural and collaborative, always meeting clients where they are and walking alongside them as they grow.
Outside of work, Katie enjoys backpacking, concerts, trying new foods, and spending time outdoors with her husband and their two dogs.
